I have worked in this company for 3 years in the Chennai office and it is a very good company as for as work environment is concerned. The company has three engg/project offices across the globe one in Copenhagen, Denmark, another in Bethelehem, US and in Chennai, India. I would like to mention about the work environment which is world class, an IT company cannot compete. The company has a total employee strength of 2000 in Chennai which is quite big for an engg company but people management here is excellent and the credit goes to the HRD team.
Job security:
As long as one is in good terms with his boss, he/she can have a secured place in FLSmidth. Else he/she may be sent out even in a single days notice. Global policy has both its advantage and dis-ad in this company. Recession on Europe and Americas can hit the Indian market certainly.
A recent example - 300 trainees were sent out of the company in 2008 due to global recession.
Salary Package:
Early and intelligent bird gets the best. When you come in to this company for interview, you will have to demand for a package which stands stable for the next two years. We may not know, as global policy may set your salary at the same stage after two years. Incentive has an upper limit and no lower limit. Should not be considered in the package.
Location / Commuting:
The companys chennai office has very good admin team and company buses ply to every part of the city. Almost 60 buses are being operated. By the way, the company is located 25km away from the centre part of the city of chennai.
